I have been giving the Lord the last word. Lying in bed at night, I ask Him to have the last word. Similarly, I ask Him to have the first word when I wake up in the morning. This came from Monday night.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
—Proverbs 3:5-6 written by King Solomon

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.—Hebrews 11:6

The world is so desperate for leadership they can trust, that when Oprah Winfrey gave a rousing speech she was rumored as a presidential candidate.

Even King Solomon didn’t acquire his great insight by his own prowess. It was given to him by God. The Lord is our provider, healer, and savior.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. —Isiaiah 55:8-9

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

“For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?”
“Or who has given a gift to him
    that he might be repaid?”

For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.

Romans 11:33-36

Even all the accumulated knowledge of geniuses in their fields of science, Einstein, Gallileo, Pasteur, etc.
Immanuel Kant for instance have all died. Many as unbelievers and it will not go well for them when they stand before the Lord. He is the beginning of wisdom.

Better felt than “telt”

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and know that God can see what is in your heart. If He is not the king of all, he is not the Lord at all. Don’t hold back anything from God or any time from God.

Run these questions about the goals and purposes of your life. Did the answers to these questions come from the Lord?
Who, What, Why, When, Where, How

In those early Assembly of God days, going to see a movie was considered reprobate. Now it’s common and accepted.

To acknowledge means to recognize the rights, or authority of someone. Be in tune with the Spirit of God so that you are on His path for you.

Think about clerks in stores who ask how you are doing today. I know they do not really care, so I just give them the nod of recognition like a golfer acknowledging clapping for a good put. We need to go further than that in acknowledging the Lord.

He will make your paths straight. He will lead you to the worthy goal, no matter the twists and turns.
If you do not have the Lord to lean on, who do you turn to in times of trouble? The disciple of Christ will acknowledge Him in all his ways.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. —Psalm 119:105 (KJV)

How do you react when God places people in your path for a divine appointment?
How do you react when you receive answers to your prayers?

How do you react when someone rejects your request?
How do you react when someone you love passes away?

Have you heard a message from the Lord giving you direction in your life?
The Message Bible is paraphrase written in contemporary language.
Let’s take a look at some bible figures and the message God was sending them.

Luke 1:29. Mary was greatly troubled
vs 38 Mary says, I am the Lord’s servant. Be it unto me according to thy word.
May we have the same reaction to the Lord’s call.
She submitted to God’s will, way, and when.

God said it; I believe it; that settles it.

Joseph received a message in a dream

After the birth of Jesus, Joseph had another dream, this time about keeping his family safe by escaping to Egypt.

The shepherds also received a message about the birth of the messiah. When the angel came to visit, they were afraid, then they went to worship him, and then they told others about his birth.

Herod heard the message that the king was born. His reaction was to attempt murdering that boy.

How do you react to the message that our savior has come to call us into His kingdom with the forgiveness of sins and new life?
He is with us to the end of the age.
His message to you may be more than you understand as it was to Mary.
Choose to react faithfully, obediently and even evangelistically, submitting to the word as Mary did.

Our God is Jehovah Jireh, our provider, provider, healer, prince of peace, everlasting father.
We have a savior who has defeated death, owns the cattle on a thousand hills,
    Answer yes to His call.
What has He said to you lately?

    Thank God for Heaven

Thank you Lord for delaying your return until after we were brought into your kingdom. Please also give our family members the gifs of repentance and salvation.

Last week we sang a new song called “Count Them All” and we were reminded to give thanks for all God’s blessings.

    I thank God for heaven.
There is hell to be shunned and a heaven to be gained.
Thinking of our precious saints who have gone before us to be with the Lord.
What wonderful things they must be experiencing in heaven.
Eye has not seen what wonderful things, but it has been revealed to us by His Holy Spirit.
The bible does not tell us all we want to know, but it does tell us all we need to know. The words given us about heaven are largely symbolic, probably because we don’t have the right words to express it.

11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and
the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of
thousands; 12Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and
riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
    Rev. 5:11 10

    Salvation
1And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation,
and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: 2For true and righteous [are] his
judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication,
and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. 3And again they said, Alleluia. And her
smoke rose up for ever and ever. 4And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down
and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. 5And a voice came out of the
throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
    The Marriage of the Lamb
6And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the
voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
    Rev. 19:1-6

Our own family members are part of that great voice

    Rev 21:3-5
    3And I heard a great voice
out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them,
and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God. 4And God
shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor
crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write:
for these words are true and faithful.

There will be no pain in heaven
1And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of
God and of the Lamb. 2In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there]
the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the
leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations. 3And there shall be no more curse: but the
throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4And they shall see
his face; and his name [shall be] in their foreheads. 5And there shall be no night there; and they
need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for
    ever and ever.
    Rev. 22:1-6

The door is open (Rev 4), but not everyone will go through it.’
The door is open to as many who choose him.

    Count Your Blessings

    Count Your Blessings
Thanksgiving Is Much Better than Grumbling

Grumbling is murmuring or muttering in discontent. (Numbers 14, 1 Cor. 10)
How do you spot a grumbler and what is the cure?
    1) You might be a grumbler if you are never satisfied with what you have.
    2) You might be a grumbler if you always have a complaint or an excuse.
    3) You might be a grumbler if you believe that you could never succeed.

    Parable of the hired workers.
1For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man [that is] an householder, which went out early in the
morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. 2And when he had agreed with the labourers for a
penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3And he went out about the third hour, and saw
others standing idle in the marketplace, 4And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and
whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. 5Again he went out about the sixth
and ninth hour, and did likewise. 6And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others
standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? 7They say unto him,
Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever
is right, [that] shall ye receive.

8So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and
give them [their] hire, beginning from the last unto the first. 9And when they came that [were
hired] about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. 10But when the first came, they
supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
11And when they had received [it], they murmured against the good man of the house, 12Saying,
These last have wrought [but] one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have
borne the burden and heat of the day. 13But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee
no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny? 14Take [that] thine [is], and go thy way: I
will give unto this last, even as unto thee. 15Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own?
Is thine eye evil, because I am good? 16So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be
    called, but few chosen.
    Matthew 20: 1-16

Grumbling is a symptom of a deeper issue — the grumbler is mad at God.
Jesus is interested in why you do what you do.

The path to a thankful heart:
    1) Take time to thank God for the blessings of your day.
Thank God for the blessings of yesterday before starting your grumbling today.
    2) Don’t judge yourself by the way God treats someone else, and don’t compare yourself to others. God is not obligated to treat everyone the same way.

People think the more the produce, the bigger their reward will be. God considers you motive.
The world considers what did you do, The Lord wants to know why did you do it.
The parable teaches us the equality of faithfulness not the equality of opportunity.

    Thank God for Weaknesses

    What are your weaknesses?

Sweets, Sleeping in, Lusts, Love of money..
Can almighty God really sympathize with your weaknesses?
How can a perfectly Holy God identify with my faults.

14Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took
part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is,
the devil; 15And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16For verily he took not on [him the nature of] angels; but he took on [him] the seed of Abraham.
17Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto [his] brethren, that he might be a
merciful and faithful high priest in things [pertaining] to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of
the people. 18For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that
    are tempted.
    — Hebrews 2: 14

For we have a high priest who is able to empathize with our weaknesses.
    — Hebrews 4:15
    1) Your weakneses can actually be a blessing in disguise.

We have a society that does not advise admitting your weaknesses. Yet putting our faith in God allows Him to work through our weaknesses.

Paul the apostle had his own troubles too, and he was willing to share his experience:
7And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was
given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted
above measure. 8For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9And he
said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most
gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in
distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
    —2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Only God will never fail or forsake you.

Paul in his weakness, looked to the strength of the Father, and while sitting in a jail cell, he wrote to the Phillipians,
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

When you believe that you can handle a situation on your own, God steps back and allows you to give it your best shot.
When you look to your Father, and you cry out for his help, He acknowledges your need and pours out his strength, wisdom and blessing.
God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

    2 Cor. 12 ESV

Some thorns in you life are temporary, some are for the duration. Paul’s thorn may have been permanent for his lifetime.
The thorn keeps you dependent on God, so that you do not rely on just your own abilities. If you believe God will use you to do something great, expect a thorn.
I have had thorns of my own.
I had serious OCD hand washing, turning off electronics, and locking doors.
    I hate being short.
    I hate balding.
    I hate having crones disease.

I loved going to Guatemala where people are shorter.
Remember, you are the ambassador of the King, the child of the King, you are a dime in a world of nickels — half as big and twice as valuable.

    3) Having weaknesses will cause you to value other people.
Weaknesses remind you to rely on the help of others.
Aaron Wilson has been a help on so many things
Bill Layher discovered the scorch squirrel problem.
Bobby Mumford helped cut down a tree between the garage and another building.
Laurel Layher helps with counseling issues.
Pastor Sherry has been a blessing in administration

    4) Having weaknesses is not all that bad. They open the door for you reach out to others.
They are the great tenderizers of your soul. You do not become a great lover of Christ without them.
Pastor Bob Fish recovered from prostate cancer and from a bad snow mobile accident.
Ron Hodges had a terribly disabling industrial accident.
It could be the thing that you are most ashamed of that helps you encourage others.

Admit your weakness and ask God to use it.

Hebrews 11 (Hall of Faith) tells us about many who were used by God despite their weaknesses

    Getting Along with One Another

    Communion Service

Now all things are of God, the One having reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and having given to us the ministry of reconciliation:
    2 Cor. 5:18

The problems of people just needing to get along with one another seem now to be

And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, as also in Christ God forgave you.
    Eph. 4:32

    So many of us have different positions and opinions: Infant vs choosing baptism;
Always saved vs the free will to walk a your faith.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
    Matthew 5:9

To as many as who has received Him, He gave the right to be called sons of God.

Study to be silent. Be swift to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry. Because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. —James 1:19-20
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
    Eph. 2:10

    Psalm 23

Try to see the other persons viewpoint.
Even a simple water bottle can appear very different to someone seeing the other side if you can only see one side.
Do you every find yourself getting angry with sinners for sinning? We should recognize that the enemy has blinded their eyes. They can not even recognize what is sin. Would you ask a blind man who many fingers you are holding up? No, of course not. Pray for God to open their eyes first.
Try to walk a mile in someone else’s situation before you condemn their actions.

We have a little diversity in our church. God created diversity, but not division or discord or denigration.
It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. I could go on.
This isn’t the first time I have warned you, you know. If you use your freedom this way, you will not inherit God’s kingdom. —Galations 5:19-21 Message Bible
Be careful in friend and mate selection:
Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” —1 Corinthians 15:33
Find a good spouse, you find a good life—and even more: the favor of God!
    Proverbes 18:22

Remember who you are in all this finger pointing.

We have been given the job of reconciliation.

    Temptation Is Not Sin

Someone once said that they can resist every evil except temptation.

The life of Joseph was turned upside down when his brothers sold him into slavery.
He was like a country boy taken to the big city. Potiphar, who purchased Joseph, was the captain of the guard, but Joseph was not discouraged because the Lord was with Joseph.
    Gen. 39
The Lord is with you also.
Blessed is the man who shall not walk in the counsel of the wrong, And shall not stand in the path of sinners, And shall not sit in the seat of scoffers, But his delight is in the Torah of ????, And he meditates in His Torah day and night. For he shall be as a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That yields its fruit in its season, And whose leaf does not wither, And whatever he does prospers.—Psalm 1
Things were going well for Joseph. Sometimes when things go well, we become more vulnerable to wonder away from our dependence on God.
Potiphars wife was attracted to Joseph, and he refused. “Who could I do such a wicked thing? It would be such a great sin against God.
And after these events it came to be that his master’s wife lifted up her eyes to Yos?ph and said, “Lie with me.” But he refused and said to his master’s wife, “Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has given into my hand all that he has. “No one is greater in this house than I, and he has not withheld whatever from me but you, because you are his wife. And how shall I do this great evil and sin against Elohim?”—Genesis 39:7-9
Joseph tore himself away and ran from the house.
    Genesis 39:12
That is how we respond to sin. Run away. Put distance between you and sin.
Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee.
Do whatever it takes to resist and flee temptation.

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.  —James 1:12

Temptation is not sin, choosing to follow it is. Temptation is a call to battle and it could be a clue that you are moving in the right direction.

Joseph know the consequences of sin would be severe. God’s standard are forever regardless of the cultural morays of our time.

All sin is ultimately against God. Jesus was tempted in every way, but without sin.
There is no temptation but that which is common to all of us. You must find a way to escape.
We serve a thrice holy God as Isaiah quoted from the heavenly beings visiting the throne of God.
He will hold us accountable even for every idle word.
Let your love for God be your greatest deterrent  against temptation.

In the book of mysteries the student was asked if he could throw a forest of trees off to a distance away. If you do it when temptation is just a seed, you could throw a forest of sins away.

He was reminded that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness. Not because we earned it, but because of his great love.In the words of Aaron Rogers, RELAX. God’s got this.Elijah defeated the profits of Baal in a miraculous show of God’s strength, then ran off to a cave fearing for his life. This is not the time to give up. Elijahs’ courage and strength was renewed. The grace of God is poured out for us too. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.Greater than the powers of the world, demons, and spiritual principalities. There shall be showers of blessing untold. Submit and Resist
Eph. 6Max Lucado authored a message that inspired todays message.Joe Kaufman in Holland, Mich posted something on Facebook. The horribleness of sin is never evident until it is committed. We saw that in Las Vegas this past week, with 56 dead and 500 injured. Why does this happen, people ask.For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.Eph 6:12The devil is not just a symbol of evil, he is a real enemy we contend with. This truth is spiritually discerned, so most will not understand it.(You can plausible debunk stories on UFOs, but the same is not true for the reality of the devil)Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:1 Peter 5:8The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.John 10:10You are a target because…But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:John 11) Do not dismiss the devil as irrelevant. Do not make yourself the next easy target.Would you agree that God is Love.Should we keep the 10 commandments?Do you agree with the Word of the Bible?Be warned and wary of the enemy described therein.Remember that the devil has his minions also working on his behalf.Eph 6:12He tempted David, confused Saul, attacked Job.Even Jesus was tempted. Matt. 4, Matt. 13Pray daily for protection from the evil one.And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.Matt. 6:13He knows his days are numbered. Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea; with great fury the devil has come down to you, knowing he has only a short time.”Rev. 12:12and having despoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.Col. 2:15For now evil has some sway, ultimately, God has His way.Turn to God in prayer. The devils name means divider. Rejection, division and isolation are evidence of his influence.Greater is he that is in me than he that is in the world.God is faithful.1 Cor. 10Shame on Max Lucado for quoting, “Resist the devil and he will flee.”James 4:7 is the verse and we must not forget, “Submit to God resist the devil and he will flee.”Eph. 6 put on the armor of GodFor the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)2 Cor. 10:4 When you worship ????, Abba Father, you are doing the very same thing, the devil could not bring himself to do.Romans: The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.Help us Lord to change our lives by your leading to serve you.Break the line of sin that has been in my family. We submit to our Father, God and resist the devil.

    Are You Puting God First
The most important question: Are you putting God first in everything? Is your life primarily about honoring His name? Here is the tough news, “This life, your life is not about you.”In a healthy christian life, Jesus is the focus. He gets the most air time. When we did the vows at my sons wedding, Nathan’s lip began to quiver. He was getting emotional. His wife was the center of attention, and so it is in western culture. The bride is the center of attention. The tables will be turned, when Jesus returns for His bride. Are you putting Christ first in your life? Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.1 Cor. 10:21 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.Col 3:23,24Just six percent of Great Britain considers themselves to be regular bible readers.10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.Eph. 2:10Remember the sabbath to keep it holy.Forsake not the assembling together.HebrewsAnd he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.Luke 4:16Luke 11
